The idea behind Trust Fall was to explore the amplification of space and distance we've seen in urban settings in recent months, through the salience of isolated, separated bodies within streetscapes. Obviously, there are echoes of our pandemic - but it's not about a sickness. It's about our new, evolved relationship to space and to others, something that isn't necessarily novel, but visually jarring. By placing models within these somewhat desolate city vignettes, I wanted to highlight our newfound difficulty in bridging that gap between oneself and the unknown other, leaning into that risk, that "trust fall" required to build relationships.
